King Darius appointed 120 governors to look over his kingdom. One of the 3 presidents was Daniel. Daniel was a religious man who was superior over the other presidents. King Darius considered appointing Daniel to rule the whole kingdom which made the other presidents and governors jealous and they wished to discredit him. They could not find a single thing wrong with Daniel so they decided to create an edict stating that if anyone worshiped a god or diving human other than King Darius would be thrown in the lion’s den. Daniel went home and like everyday prayed to his god. The governors saw him praying and sent him to Kind Darius to be thrown to the lions. King Darius didn't want to send Daniel into the lion den but remembering the edict he had signed could not go against his word so Daniel was placed in the den. Because Daniel believed so strongly in God, an angel was sent and the lions did not harm him. After King Darius realized he was still alive he realized there must be a God and sent the men who accused Daniel to be thrown in the lion’s den.
